On an average, 7 out of every 10 teenagers would love to have a glazed doughnut for breakfast every morning. And for almost all of them, the favorite part of Halloween is the candy it brings. Yet, a recent study showing increased heart disease in frequent sweet eaters, may prove that candy is not so dandy!
When you add more sugar to your daily intake, it reduces the amount of necessary lipoproteins, such as HDL or ‘good cholesterol’, in the body and increases the triglyceride content. As the survey shows, these higher levels of ‘bad cholesterol’ in the blood are more likely to result in heart disease, diabetes or stroke.
